University Heights

January 6, 2017 By Evan Morris

University Heights is located immediately North of Hillcrest and North Park. It features a large amount of homes that have the most spectacular canyon and Mission Valley views. It centers on the intersection of Park Blvd and Adams Avenue. The most common architecture of this neighborhood are quaint Spanish Colonial Bungalow communities.

Trolley Barn Park is on the north side of Adams Avenue offering large views of the valley and a wide open space having multiple uses by a large amount of the local residents. There are free concerts during the summer every Friday night in this same space. Sidewalks around the playground in the park are laid out in a pattern mimicking the local street plan, a design also echoed on the carved stone plaque.

The University Heights sign is located at the intersection of Madison Ave and Park Blvd. Near this sign there has been an explosion of amazing restaurants such as El Zarape, Plumeria Vegetarian Food, and Bahn Thai. Lestat’s Coffee shop is open 24 hours a day.
