South Park is considered one of the major historic communities of San Diego and has long been considered as a registered historic district. Three other close by neighborhoods considered historic are Burlingame, Sherman Heights, and Golden Hill. South Park is well known for the line of beautiful Jacarandas along 30th and Fern Streets offering an amazing sight when they are in bloom.
The most common architecture the single family homes are Craftsman, Victorian, and Spanish Colonial style. South Park is highly sought after for its high walking score and popular restaurants, grocery stores, taverns, wine bars, art galleries, and yoga studios.
Every season the local business owners host a “walk about” allowing residents of San Diego to tour all of the small businesses and try the local cuisine offered. Most residents are very familiar with the award winning Italian restaurant Buona Forchetta. Right across the street is trendy Kindred, a craft cocktail fully Vegan restaurant that has amazing cuisine for all tastes.
South Park offers the charm of a small town right in the middle of the metro neighborhoods.
